Zinc hex nuts are primarily used with bolts and washers of the same thread size to create a secure, clamped joint. 
Material: Most zinc hex nuts are made from steel (mild steel or carbon steel).
Finish: The zinc plating provides a bright, shiny, silver finish and offers moderate protection against rust and corrosion, making them suitable for internal applications. Mixing zinc-plated nuts with galvanized bolts is not recommended due to potential galvanic corrosion issues and differing coating thicknesses.
Standards & Grades: They are available in various property classes, such as Class 8 (high tensile) for strength and reliability, or lower grades for general use, often complying with standards like AS1112.1 or DIN 934.
Thread Types: They come in both metric (e.g., M8, M10, M12) and imperial (e.g., BSW, UNC, UNF) thread sizes, with both coarse and fine pitch options.
Types: Standard full hex nuts are the most common, but other types like lock nuts (half nuts/jam nuts) and flanged nuts are also available with zinc plating.
