MILD STEEL SHEET

Mild steel sheets are versatile, low-carbon steel panels used for general fabrication and DIY projects due to their strength, workability, and affordability.

Workability: It can be easily cut, welded, bent, shaped, and machined.
Strength: It has high impact and tensile strength and good breakage resistance. In Australia, Grade 250 mild steel (with a minimum yield strength of 250 MPa) is a common structural grade.
Finish: It is available in hot-rolled (black mill scale finish) and cold-rolled (smoother finish) forms.
Corrosion: Mild steel will rust if unprotected, so it requires painting, priming, or sealing after fabrication.
