Always use the recommended number of clips for a given rope diameter.
The "saddle" (anvil) of the clip must always be placed on the live or weight-bearing end of the rope—never on the dead (short) end.
Clips must be torqued to the manufacturer's specifications using a torque wrench.
Even when installed correctly, clips typically reduce the wire rope's strength to about 80% of its rated capacity.
